Cleaning takes minutes, not tools.

The tap tells you when a cleaning cycle is due. You fit the cleaning cartridge, follow the prompts, and refit the filter — nothing is dismantled.

The cleaning cycle

Four steps, roughly an hour unattended.

Most of the cycle runs on its own. You are only involved at the start and the end.

Step 1
The tap prompts you
The control ring signals that a cleaning cycle is due — usually alongside a filter change.
Step 2
Fit the cleaning cartridge
Remove the filter cartridge and twist the cleaning cartridge onto the same head. No tools.
Step 3
Run the cycle
Follow the tap prompts and let the cycle complete. Filtered water is unavailable meanwhile.
Step 4
Refit the filter
Swap the cleaning cartridge for a fresh filter, flush as prompted, and the tap resets.

Yearly rhythm

Two touchpoints a year for most households, and a wipe of the finish in between.

Daily — wipe the finish
Soft cloth, mild cleaning agent. Never abrasive pads or acidic descalers on the spout.
Filter capacity reachedIn progress
The tap and app indicate remaining capacity. Interval depends on emirate water hardness and usage.
Cleaning cycle
Run with the cleaning cartridge, typically paired with the filter change.
Service check if needed
Flow, taste or carbonation changes are worth an adviser call rather than a home fix.

Filtered path stays separate
The tap carries a separate waterway, so washing-up water never mixes with filtered water.
Mild agents only
Soft cloth and mild cleaner. Rinse and dry to avoid water marks on chrome and matt finishes.
No acids or abrasives
Limescale removers, bleach and scouring pads damage the coating and are not covered.
Genuine cartridges
Only GROHE cleaning and filter cartridges keep the system within its warranty terms.

Nine times out of ten it is a filter at capacity. An adviser can confirm before any service visit is booked.
